Some of the stonework incorporated in the building could originate from the dismantling of buildings after the dissolution in the early 1520s of nearby Minchery Priory. The building has extremely shallow foundations and is built directly on the high limestone bedrock.</p> <div class="field field-type-filefield field-field-files"> <div class="field-label">Files:&nbsp;</div> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> <div class="filefield-file"><img class="filefield-icon field-icon-application-pdf" alt="application/pdf icon" src="https://www.archeox.net/sites/all/modules/filefield/icons/application-pdf.png" /><a href="https://www.archeox.net/sites/www.archeox.net/files/reports/EOXP%20TEST%20PIT%2059%20littlemore.pdf" type="application/pdf; length=160920">EOXP TEST PIT 59 littlemore.pdf</a></div> </div> </div> </div> <p><a href="https://www.archeox.net/investigations/test-pit-59-st-georges-house-littlemore" target="_blank">read more</a></p> Test pit Modern The Leys and Littlemore Tue, 08 Apr 2014 15:00:27 +0000 Leigh 391 at https://www.archeox.net Geophysical Survey at St Michael's Primary School, Marston https://www.archeox.net/investigations/geophysical-survey-st-michaels-primary-school-marston <div class="field field-type-openlayers-wkt field-field-location"> <div class="field-label">Location:&nbsp;</div> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> <div style="width: auto; height: 400px;" id="openlayers-container-openlayers-map-auto-id-2" class="openlayers-container openlayers-container-preset-default"> <div style="width: auto; height: 400px;" id="openlayers-map-auto-id-2" class="openlayers-map openlayers-preset-default"></div> </div> </div> </div> </div> <div class="field field-type-text field-field-address"> <div class="field-label">Address:&nbsp;</div> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> Oxford, Oxfordshire OX3 0EJ, UK </div> </div> </div> <p class="Standard">The East Oxford Archaeology and History Project conducted 0.04 hectares of gradiometer survey on land immediately to the south east of St Michael’s CE Primary School, Marston Road, Oxford.&nbsp; Interference from ferrous reinforcing in a nearby area of concrete hard-standing caused magnetic interference across much of the small survey area.&nbsp; Several strongly magnetic signals probably</p> <div class="field field-type-filefield field-field-files"> <div class="field-label">Files:&nbsp;</div> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> <div class="filefield-file"><img class="filefield-icon field-icon-application-pdf" alt="application/pdf icon" src="https://www.archeox.net/sites/all/modules/filefield/icons/application-pdf.png" /><a href="https://www.archeox.net/sites/www.archeox.net/files/reports/St%20Michaels%20geophysical%20survey%20report.pdf" type="application/pdf; length=1416779">St Michaels geophysical survey report.pdf</a></div> </div> </div> </div> <p><a href="https://www.archeox.net/investigations/geophysical-survey-st-michaels-primary-school-marston" target="_blank">read more</a></p> Geophysics Modern Headington and Marston Mon, 07 Apr 2014 16:14:40 +0000 Olaf Bayer 389 at https://www.archeox.net Test pit 22: 142 Cricket Road https://www.archeox.net/investigations/test-pit-22-142-cricket-road <div class="field field-type-openlayers-wkt field-field-location"> <div class="field-label">Location:&nbsp;</div> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> <div style="width: auto; height: 400px;" id="openlayers-container-openlayers-map-auto-id-3" class="openlayers-container openlayers-container-preset-default"> <div style="width: auto; height: 400px;" id="openlayers-map-auto-id-3" class="openlayers-map openlayers-preset-default"></div> </div> </div> </div> </div> <div class="field field-type-text field-field-address"> <div class="field-label">Address:&nbsp;</div> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> 142 Cricket Road, Oxford, Oxfordshire OX4 3DL, UK </div> </div> </div> <p>The test pit was dug at the bottom of the garden which backs onto school grounds and positioned to avoid tree roots.
